Before buying this product, I did read the reviews and was somewhat worried about the wing nut and if the lighting would be like old times. I'm glad that I saw the comment regarding the light and the white christmas tree, because that is what I was intending to do. When I received it, I didn't have any problem putting it together, and it really does look great against a white tree. The true benefits will be when I set my tree up on the 15th and enjoy the old time memories which I was able to do now that I found my color wheel. Thank you once again. Diane

I was happy to be able to find one of these lights since I did find a silver Christmas tree for my husband but not the light. This did bring back memories for him ... The negative side is that it was a little expensive and not made as well as 35 years ago (well I guess nothing is). Anyway I would suggest not using the halogen light with it since the wingnut does loosen with the rotation of the light and the light did fall over a few times. The colored illuminated light was not as bright as both of us remember from our childhoods.

Comments about Rotating Color Wheel:
The color wheel works ok but just isnt as vivid as we remember from our childhood.
Maybe all the special effects of this technological time has ruined it for us....

Comments about Rotating Color Wheel:
Our family has been looking for the color wheel for the longest time. Remembering how our grandparents had the wheels. We came across the silver trees but could not find the wheels. Now we have it and it brings us back and pulls those that can not be with us physically closer to us once again.

Comments about Rotating Color Wheel:
Make sure to use a halogen bulb. This was only noted on the outside of the box. This color wheel is not quite what I remember from my childhood, but it's the best I've found yet. I remember our's as a kid, really throwing some beautiful color on our aluminum tree. This one is more muted and the light doesn't cover the entire tree. And I do wish it had a heavier.

Comments about Rotating Color Wheel:
Plastic is too thick to successful transpose the color onto a siver tree. From what I can remember from the 60's, our colorwheel had transparancy material in red, green, blue and yellow.Purchased this one and was so disappointed I couldn't recapture the look.
