LED
Christmas trees are becoming more and more in demand, and it makes
sense (and cents). Short for "light emitting diodes," LEDs offer a
number of advantages over incandescent lights. Let us shed a little
light on the topic:
More energy efficient:
LED lights generate little heat. In fact, they use only about 1/10th
the amount of electricity compared to their incandescent counterparts.
To illustrate, only 4 watts of energy are needed to illuminate a
70-light string of LEDs, while an incandescent requires 4 watts per bulb. Pretty smart, those LEDs.
Safer: Because they're cool to the touch, LEDs are less at risk for causing fire.
Longer lasting: LEDs last about 10 times longer than incandescents. They don't have those little filaments, which can break or burst.
More durable: LEDs are made of plastic, so they don't break or shatter like glass bulbs.
Brighter: LEDs emit bright, clear light. Glass bulbs tend to produce yellower light, but LEDs are crisper.
Yes, LEDs cost more up front, but considering the long life span they have as well as the nod to a more energy-efficient, eco-friendly way to light up the holidays, we think LED-lit Christmas trees are a really bright idea. "I just wanted to let you know that the tree I ordered...6.5 foot Chesapeake pre lit Christmas tree...came in one day as promised...ALL lights working upon flipping the switch, in perfect condition and easy to set up all by myself. It's a beautiful artificial Christmas tree with lots of tips, lots of Christmas lights, strong metal hinges, sturdy base, realistic branches...I am thoroughly pleased with the quality of product and service. It is our first "fake" tree...thought I'd never see the day I'd do it...but I'm glad I did. Buying an artificial Christmas tree sight unseen was a bit scary, because I'm very picky, but I couldn't be happier!
Thanks!
