I purchased this tree to use at a craft show to display my handmade ornaments. When I first opened the box and pulled out my new tree, I was pretty disappointed. The needles have a metallic look to them and the pot appears to be cheap aluminum. From the online photo, I expected a tree with a more natural look/color and with a white potted base. I was working at the eleventh hour, however, so I had to make this tree work. After fanning out the stems and adding some crushed velvet fabric around the base to cover the cheap looking pot, the tree was starting to look better. When the ornaments were added, it further helped to distract from the shiny metallic look and felt more like a normal desktop tree. While this certainly isn't the prettiest tree I've seen of its size, it's much better than the ones I found in the local stores. This tree has a fullness to it that I didn't see in the local options, and the base, while unattractive, is very sturdy.
